Each city defines, revises, and publishes records differently. Chicago’s selected dataset includes victim-level homicide and nonfatal-shooting rows, Philadelphia’s source focuses on shooting victims, and Baltimore’s NIBRS Group A data requires classification filters. Totals should not be compared as if they measure identical concepts.
